Parents and kids will rock to favorite tunes from the Jungle Gym Jam such as “Jungle Gym Jamming,” the classic “This Little Light of Mine,” and a new piece — “The People Exhibit at the Zoo” — a humorous take on what zoo animals think as the people pass by. Parents, grandparents, and kids will enjoy the fast-paced music event that encourages dancing, interaction, and making new friends, while sharing messages of anti-bullying, kindness, and friendship.

Drawing on many traditional folk music styles Key Wilde & Mr. Clarke will headline the concert, performing original humorous upbeat songs with an emphasis on guitar and tight vocal harmonies. The audience can expect to hear the songs “Animal Alphabet”, “Railroad Medley”, “King of the Town” and “Raised By Trolls” from their recent release Pleased To Meet You in addition to classic Sirius XM Favorites like “The Rattling Can”, “Mary the Fairy”, “Favorite Names” and “Pepito.”

Tickets are priced at $7.00 per adult, $5.00 for children age 2 and up, and children under 2 are free. Attendees are asked to bring a new, unopened toy to donate to families still affected by Hurricane Sandy.

A Very, Very Musical Weekend!

This may have been my most musical weekend to-date. It certainly was my most musical weekend as a kindie artist!

Over the past weekend, I performed at a Mommy & Me fitness group Halloween party, a 5th birthday party and a new friend’s CD release party.

For starters, I entertained several cute little Halloween revelers and their grown-ups thanks to a connection I made with Fatima at Fit4Mom Stroller Strides (Westfield/Warren, NJ).

After a break in the action (which was happily spent attending my 2-year-old cowgirl’s friend’s 3rd birthday party, complete with pony rides and a mobile petting zoo!) it was off to Rutherford, NJ for a 5th birthday party arranged by a new friend of mine, concert promoter John Grande at New Memory Productions. This time I put on my wireless headset-mic and added plenty of movement to my songs (3 sets of original, cover and traditional songs). The birthday boy loved strumming my guitar in his Avengers/Iron Man costume! Since a young partygoer asked me to sing a superhero song, I made one up right on the spot – look for it in the near future once we refine the lyrics!

Sunday meant one more stop – this one with the full band, in support of Baze and His Silly Friends’ CD Release Party! What a blast that show was! Of all the shows we’ve played since we started this kindie band this past March, this was the first one we played in a rock club, and – Wow! – when you have a great sound technician like Mark at the Crossroads in Garwood, NJ operating a great sound system, what a jolt of energy it gave every member of every band on stage. Add in a genuine kindie superstar like Suzi Shelton and a TV voiceover star (literally – she plays the voice of Star on Sprout’s Good Night Show!) – that’s Stacia Newcomb – it was an atmosphere where kids and their grown-ups couldn’t help but have an amazing time!

A High-Flying Day at Crane Park Family Festival!

What a great time we had entertaining you at the Crane Park Family Festival last weekend! I love going airborne when I play with this band!

A great big thank you to Jeff Pizzi from Baze and His Silly Friends for sitting in on drums! We’ll be opening up for their Best Day Ever CD Release Concert at the Crossroads in Garwood on Sunday, Oct. 27. Kids are encouraged to come in costume!

Many thanks to Joann Smalls with Montclair Center Business Improvement District for organizing such a fine family event and including us in it. My wife, parents and 2-year-old daughter had a splendid time on this beautiful September afternoon! Big thanks to Brian Brodeur and his crew, Rastafa and Justin from Aciem Studios for the superb live sound and your flexibility in setting up the monitors to best accommodate how we were set up onstage.

There will be YouTube videos up soon, including our debut of “My Glasses,” a very danceable groove originally written the day Amy and I went to pick up our daughter’s very first pair of glasses. Amy and I wrote the bulk of the song in the car on the way to the optician!

It was great to see Gail Prusslin of TV-34 Montclair’s show “No Cover” in the audience! Here’s the episode of “No Cover” featuring our band! Starting on Thursday it will be on Channel 34 (Verizon and Comcast) every night at 9:00 for about two weeks, but it’s available online anytime via the link.

We’ve got a busy few weeks ahead in the studio as we prepare our debut album. We’ll see you at the Montclair Public Library on Sunday 10/20!
