Introducing the Stone Pony Family Concert Street Team!

Surf Taco Belmar NJWhen a band has a big show coming up, they need the public to know about it. To help make this happen, a band can put together a street team, a dedicated group of people who help spread the word. We’re fortunate to have a street team of Monmouth County businesses coming together to put up flyers in their place of business and give out postcards to their customers informing them about the Stone Pony show on 11/20.

Here are the local movers and shakers who are on our street team for this special upcoming show:

Surf Taco of Belmar

Chris at Surf Taco of Belmar has supported our act by hosting our afternoon acoustic sing-alongs last fall. He and his staff are always friendly and create a great environment for family and friends to get together and enjoy some tasty tacos and seafood on Belmar’s Main Street at  10th Avenue, within a short walk of the beach. Now he’s on board to help inform the families who eat there about our upcoming Stone Pony family matinee. Look for the concert flyer on the eatery’s bulletin board.

Learning Express of Holmdel

Learning Express of Holmdel, NJ

When our family wants to give a child a gift that’s fun to play with and has real developmental value, we go to our hometown Learning Express store and find just the right toy. We’ve been pleased to find the same consistent level of friendly service and great selection throughout the Learning Express stores in New Jersey. Their Holmdel store has lived up to this standard as well; Jennifer, the store’s manager totally gets what we’re doing with these Stone Pony family concerts and has been on board with promoting these shows to her customers, This also helps Jennifer and her employees build relationships with their customers where they’re recommending things to do, not just selling toys.  Learning Express is located in Holmdel Towne Center between PM Pediatrics and Payless Shoes on Route 35.

Cute as Buttons, Belmar, NJ

This upscale babies’ boutique by the sea offers everything from personalized babies’ clothes to bathtime items to plush toys. The store’s founder, Yata, is an attorney who went all-in on parenting and discovered her passion for distinctive baby gifts. Stop by her store and pick up a postcard with details about our upcoming show!

Holmdel Preschool in Holmdel, NJ

Last summer, the Holmdel Preschool was a happy stop on our Beach Tour to support our new album Lollipop Motel. We played to their day campers while their parents where away at work. Now these kids can bring their grown-ups to the legendary Stone Pony to see our full band rock out, plus two other great family music acts. Debbie, the preschool’s director, was kind enough to take on our flyers and postcards to give out to families to tell them all about this show. If you’re close to Holmdel and looking for a great early childhood education/care option, check out the Holmdel Preschool!

Little Rockers/Apple Jams of Atlantic Highlands

Little Rockers w fans_1080With joyous children’s music classes all over New Jersey, Little Rockers build lasting relationships with the families who bring their kids for their weekly helping of enrichment and delight. Chris and Jessie, along with their excellent supporting staff of teachers and bandmates, headlined our first Stone Pony family concert, thrilling a crowd made up largely of their loyal families. Check out their brand new family music studio Apple Jams – a great place to attend their classes, host a birthday party or just drop in for playtime!

John “JC” Colyer, Online Street Team and Disability Advocate

Jason Didner and John "J.C." ColyerEvery morning I see Tweet alerts on my phone because JC is busy promoting our Monmouth County shows, our Jersey Shore-themed CD “Lollipop Motel” and the picture video he made of our song “Day at the Beach.” JC is an extraordinary individual who steadily publishes YouTube videos featuring his discussion of life with a disability and the changes that can be made on a local and national level (as well as individual attitude adjustments) to make life better for all people living with disabilities. JC lives with cerebellar ataxia, which affects his muscle coordination. This is a major change from when JC was the roadie and sound engineer in a hardworking NJ band I was in back in the 90s. But what hasn’t changed is JC’s desire and determination to help people.
