Summertime Santa

Summertime Santa by Jason Didner and the Jungle Gym Jam - digital single artworkSummertime Santa is a Jersey Shore rock-n-roll Christmas song inspired by Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes and the Beach Boys. It tells the true story Santa told me when I was singing at a Breakfast with Santa event. We got to talking about the Jersey Shore and Santa told me all about how he spends his summer vacations there.

He serves ice cream to the kids while sporting that famous white beard. He spends time riding his bike on the boardwalk, fishing and playing Skee-ball! I immediately felt all these images had to be written down in a song, so I brought the ideas home to Amy and we wrote it down. Sleigh bells, piano, jingling guitar parts, lush vocal harmonies and a rock solid rhythm section add up to a sound that mixes Christmas cheer with a summer carnival.
