Tunes for Tots 2015

Give my Kid-Friendly Rock-n-Roll CD as a Gift to a Loved One…and I’ll Donate a Matching Copy to Toys for Tots!

Jason Didner from the Jungle Gym Jam donating his album "Everyone's Invited!" to Toys for Tots as part of the Tunes for Tots program.During last year’s holiday season, my friend Steve Denyes form Hullabaloo inspired me to participate in his “Tunes for Tots” program – to donate a copy of my album “Everyone’s Invited!” to Toys for Tots for every copy sold – just as he was doing with his kid-friendly albums. It felt great to give my creations to such a worthy cause and also to participate in this way with my friends who make kids’ music.

To order a physical copy of the album to give as a holiday gift or grab a download, click the shopping cart below.

Either way, I’ll donate a physical copy of “Everyone’s Invited!” to Toys for Tots to match your CD or download purchase. I make my donation drop-offs at Babies R Us on Rt. 22 in Springfield, NJ.

Montclair’s Old Mogul Theatre to Host Family New Year’s Rock-n-Roll Ball

Montclair’s Old Mogul Theatre to Host Family New Year’s Rock-n-Roll Ball

The front door of the Old Mogul Theatre in Montclair, NJOn New Year’s Eve, Montclair will once again offer a family arts and entertainment experience to ring in 2016. The newly re-opened and renovated Old Mogul Theatre ( will be filled with singing, dancing, wonder and imagination. Family-friendly rock band Jason Didner and the Jungle Gym Jam ( will headline the event, which will also feature an arts-and-crafts station, a magician and a face painter. There will also be giveaways of special prizes by random drawing.

Like many Montclair parents, Jason and his wife/bandmate Amy felt a let-down when First Night was cancelled in 2012 and wanted to create something special for families in its place. “The Township and the Arts Council simply didn’t have the money or the sponsors to make it work on such a large scale, even though the interest among nearby residents never went away,” Jason said. “When I heard about this new performance space, I felt the time was right to bring back something on a smaller scale, but still a chance to make great family memories of New Year’s Eve in Montclair.”

Joann Smalls, a partner at the Old Mogul Theatre, collaborated with Jason to stage this event. “Jason and I are very like-minded in how we put on and promote a show,” she said. “We both agree that it takes more than playing a bunch of good songs to really give an audience a memorable experience. You’re going to see that when you come to this New Year’s Ball. The show will have an impressive visual element and there will be arts & crafts, a face painter and a magician to create memorable experiences for the families who celebrate with us.”

Doors will open at 4:00 with the craft station available immediately and the magician interacting with families. The concert performance by Jason Didner and the Jungle Gym Jam will start at 5:00. The stroke of 6 PM will be a special celebration, as that time will be midnight of the New Year in Paris, France. “Auld Lang’s Eyne” will play and the ball will drop – a ball that kids in attendance will have a chance to decorate at the event.

“We’re thrilled to be part of the Family New Years’ Rock-n-Roll Ball,” said Sally Goodgold, the founder of Artsy and Craftsy (,  an art education program for young children. “Our New Years’ Craft Station will be filled with lots of sparkles, glitter and fun! What a fabulous way to ring in the new year together as a family creating unforgettable memories!”

Online ticket sales will begin Monday, November 9 at An early bird discount will be offered for early ticket purchases; tickets will be $10 per person age 1 and up (infants under age 1 admitted free) until the early bird sale ends on December 13. Starting December 14, advance tickets will be $12.50 until the event. Ticket prices already include ticketing fees; they will not be charged additional to the price. Summertime Santa

(c) 2015, Lyrics by Amy and Jason Didner; Music by Jason Didner

What does Santa do in the summertime
When there are waves to surf in the warm sunshine?
Does he kick off his tall black winter boots
And put on a red and white bathing suit?
Does he play skee ball in the boardwalk arcade
And go with Mrs. Claus for a walk in the shade?

Summertime Santa down the shore
Serving up treats in the ice cream store
Riding around on his bicycle
Away from the arctic icicles
Summertime Santa, Summertime Santa
I’m glad you’re on vacation with me

What does Santa do on a summer day?
Does he fly with a banner behind his sleigh
To remind the kids to share their beach toys
Does he play volleyball with nice girls and boys?
Does he hang up his big red winter coat
And take time to unwind on his fishing boat

The crashing waves sound wonderful
When mixed with Santa’s bells
And the merry sounds of laughter ‘round the carousel
